The opening reception will be held Tuesday, June 12, at 6 p.m., in the stunning Samsung Experience Showroom at the Time Warner Center (10 Columbus Circle, at 58th St. and 8th Ave., third floor). This year’s awards gala is not to be missed: in addition to a cocktail reception, guests will also have the unique opportunity to try out the latest electronic devices Samsung has to offer while enjoying a special presentation of the world’s best television advertisements from 1945 to the present. Drawing from the exclusive collection of Michael Demetriades, Executive Director of the International Advertising Competition, this private screening also serves as a celebration of New York Festivals’ 50th Anniversary.
Both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s festivities will be held at The Level Room of the historic Metropolitan Pavilion (123 West 18th Street at 6th Ave., fifth floor) in Chelsea. Beginning at 1 p.m. each day, an exhibit of the 2007 Winning Work will give attendees a chance to experience the award-winning campaigns first hand.
The spotlight will be on the winners of Design, Outdoor & Print advertising on Wednesday evening. Aside from the presentation of medals, the gala will also play a winners’ showcase highlighting The World’s Best WorkTM in these advertising categories.
Thursday evening New York Festivals is pleased to award the best in Television, Cinema & Radio advertising. Winning work will be presented during the gala, as well as awards for the 2007 Agency of the Year and Advertiser of the Year. In conjunction with the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI), New York Festivals will also be awarding the UN Award for entries that best promote awareness of worldwide health, social and humanitarian issues.
To ensure a truly international competition, this year’s entries were judged by a panel of senior creative directors from 49 countries. For a full list of this year’s international panel of judges visit:
